The Challenge

Launched during the global COVID-19 pandemic, the “InAct Mobile” project was born out of a critical need for businesses to transition from physical fingerprint scanners to a safe, contactless attendance system. The challenge was to create a mobile-first solution that ensured high-security verification while remaining extremely easy to use for a diverse workforce, ranging from tech-savvy Gen Z to senior employees (ages 20-50).

The Approach

Working closely with the PIC from Interactive, I focused on a “Core-First” design strategy. My primary objective was to minimize the time spent inside the app. I conducted UX consultations to map out the most frequent user actions, ensuring that the most critical features—Clock In and Clock Out—were immediately accessible the moment the app was opened, reducing friction for employees on the go.

The Solution

I designed a clean, modern, and user-friendly visual identity that prioritized legibility and ease of navigation. To ensure data integrity for HR departments, I integrated a multi-method verification system:

Live Location Tracking: Real-time GPS verification to ensure employees are at the designated work site.
Biometric & Visual Auth: Seamless integration of Face ID, Fingerprint, and PIN verification.
Photo Evidence: A quick-capture location photo feature for added accountability.
All-in-One HR Hub: Beyond attendance, the app features a streamlined interface for viewing history, requesting leaves (Permit), and managing overtime.

The Impact

InAct Mobile successfully bridged the gap between employee safety and corporate accountability:

100% Tracking Accuracy: HR departments achieved a perfect success rate in tracking employee attendance and locations remotely.
Inclusive Adoption: The intuitive interface led to a high adoption rate across all age groups, proving that “simple is powerful.”
Modern Workforce Readiness: Successfully transformed a traditional, physical process into a scalable digital solution that remains relevant beyond the pandemic.
